The niffler on his desk was too busy biting the shiny object it had grabbed from Daichi's hand so that the Slytherin was practising the spell again. He raised his wand in thin air for the third time and with a circle and flick he said "Malin Calin!" as clear as he could. He frowned his eyebrows in concentration and the tip of his tongue stuck out the corner of his mouth as he watched purple smoke come out of the phoenix feather wand.

Smiling and eyeing the Niffler again, he tried to pet it's head but immediately the creature slashed at him. Growling if he came closer to the shiny object. Well, it seemed the Niffler wasn't going to give it back just like that. Daichi tried one last time but only got another growl. Sighing, he pointed his wand at the little creature who was looking at the wand, sniffling it even. "Malin Calin!" he shouted and circled his wand and gave a flick at the Niffler.

Purple smoke drifted out of his wand and began to surround the niffler. Had it worked? One way to find out. The Slytherin reached forward to pet the creature and was scratched on his arm. "Oww!" he yelped in shocked pain as he held his hand. Apparently, the spell had not worked.
