Watching the niffler carefully, Amelia saw it sniff out the object in her hand before taking it from her. Okay, so that part was done and the creature seemed rather attached to the watch it now had in its possession. Not going to be easy to try taking that back without magic. She wasn't looking forward to the attempt. :/
Reaching out her hand towards the niffler, she tried to coax it into giving the watch back to her. "Here, niffler. Be good and give me back the watch." Nice cheery voice and soothing tone despite her fear.
"YIKES!" Amelia quickly moved her hand back when the creature snapped at her fingers. It had been a close call, and she wouldn't have wanted to be hurt by a niffler. D: She gulped and backed away as it now started trying to nip at the hem of her skirt. Backing away was necessary; more distance was needed. There was no need to be told twice.
And now she had to try performing the spell on the niffler when it was snarling at her. Too much pressure. She couldn't cope. D:
Snap out of it. This is just a niffler... you can handle it.
With that pep talk done, Amelia raised her wand hating the fact that her hand was shaking. After taking a deep breath, she attempted the circular wand movement with a flick at the end while saying, "Malin Calin."
Right away she could tell that the spell had failed just by the fact that it was red smoke coming out of her wand instead of purple.
"Oh dear." The niffler didn't seem to like being hit with smoke. At all. :/ |
