"While there is nothing wrong with wanting to lift someone's spirits, but you must be cautions of when to do it. For example, you wouldn't want to make someone happy during a funeral of a recently deceased family member. It's important to let people mourn and such, so, yes, you can, but you it needs to be a specific occasion." She said and winked at the girl.

The window was a good distraction.

She smiled at Treyen when he took up the seat beside her, eyes flicking to the woman briefly when she giggled at them, completely oblivious to the fact that she'd expected presents. It wasn't as if it was custom for the prefect to bring gifts to new professors.

She would protect her bestie from the pink though, if he like... needed it. He totally wouldn't though.

Silently, she'd banished the name that she would never call the woman and decided to stick with Madam Poppy while the woman made her introduction speech and then went into the first question. And while the prefect had guesses, she decided to let others have a go, slipping her hand out of her pocket to take down notes.

This class was turning out to be pretty interesting.

"Pragmas can be used for occasions like sporting events and parties, where you're expected to be happy." Her hand went up briefly, and when she finished writing down all she needed, she set her quill to twirling between her fingers.
"Of course they can! It's always nice and encouraging for a team to hear their fans cheer for them, so that is an absolutely acceptable way to use an E.E. I don't believe Quidditch fans need any help from E.E., but Gobstone spectators might!" Gigglesnort.

Louisa's quill was drilling on the parchment as she struggled to write every single word of the lecture, not that it was so important and could affect her OWLs but she would take advantage of attending the special class.

After the question, her hand was up in the air, "Autogenous-Pragma.." She definitely needed to read them off the board, "..can be used in exams perhaps? To ease off the tension especially if your whole future depends on them."
"That would be heterogenous, little darling. Autogenous does not affect the target, it only affects those the target comes in contact with. For example, if you cast a heterogenous love E.E. on yourself, then you will fall in love with yourself, most likely. If you cast an autogenous love E.E. on yourself, others who come in contact with you will fall in love with you. Does that make sense? I know, I know..." She sighed and waved her hand. "It can be a little tricky, but you will have your eureka moment. Your example, nonetheless, is very valid. Entrancing Enchantments that help ease off tension and help relax are some of the most common after love-related and happiness-related charms! "

Then she thought about the question, a little nervous to answer it.
"Well Pragma would be good for people who have to deal with people for their job. That way if they are sick or sad or angry, they can still deal with the customers and make them have a good experience." She said softly, not quite looking in Madam Poppy's eyes.
"Ooh, yes! I used them all the time on the nasty people at the ministry! Made them all smiles all the time. It was the only way I could survive my horrific days there."
