Yet, something about how tongue tied he suddenly became as they walked was...curious, and she cocked her head to the side a bit as she looked at him, her long black hair falling over her shoulder. Was he still sort of nervous around her? She was tempted to ask.
"Eight then," she winked. Good, he was a pro-Pluto person too. It was unfair really. Dwarf planet STILL had the word planet in it, so wasn't demoting Pluto and calling it such an oxymoron? If it wasn't a planet, why could you call it a dwarf planet? Seemed like someone was just tryiGng to bully the planet and poke it while it was down. They could have at least called it a dwarf something else.
Kurumi stopped walking when she heard Lewis ask what was perhaps the most awkward of questions of the night, allowing him to catch up with her. Not knowing how to put things, Kurumi chewed on the inside of her cheek and tried her best not to look at him. "Uuuum..." she began, quickly realizing that the words were just not coming. "That we...um...we were intending on staying out here all night or something." LIES. That was not what she was really thinking or implying, but she couldn't bring herself to say the other.
She was back to playing with her hair now, twisting it around her index finger and tugging on it, her violet eyes sort of avoiding contact with Lewis'. Good, she apparently hadn't thought it was weird he had thanked her. Or she had and was just too nice to say anything. Hopefully, it was the first option. Because he just WAS very thankful she considered him her friend. He just wasn't sure if it was okay to say that out loud in that way.
Had she just...winked at him? Blink. "Yes." Running a hand through his hair (!!!!!!) a little nervously, Lewis nodded slowly, not really knowning what else to do. "Soooooo...when's our next...stargazing-date? Get-together. Err, I mean, when are we going to look for the other planets. Planet." WHAT was he talking about? They didn't have to and probably also couldn't fix a date right now. They would have to calculate and look up when the planets would be visible, after all.
Somehow Kurumi was lost for words it seemed, as she considered his question. He hadn't asked anything weird, right? He was just confused. Who would assume that they were up to anything but stargazing? He narrowed his green eyes at her a little to see her better in the dark and slowly started walking towards the castle again. "Oh." What?! "Why would we do that?" Would anybody seriously think that they were the type to purposefully break the rules? |
