She took the daisy and twirled the stem between her index finger and thumb. "That's really thoughtful," she said, slightly grinning. Okay, REALLY smooth. She wasn't into the whole plants thing, but she did appreciate things that lasted a long time. "Thanks."
While she held on to the daisy her free hand traveled down to her purse. Violet pulled out a transparent bag with a pink bow tied to it. "Here, I got you these," she said, handing him the bag. "I hope you like sweets." Because these were pink jelly candies.
Since she didn't know whom she was being set up with, Violet brought him some of her favorite treats.
