He wasn't even thinking on the reasons why his guess or assumption may have seemed even a little judgemental. Not that he had meant it in any way like that....he had simply deducted it by the information he had been given.
Great going Bennett...
And as much as he seemed good at putting things together, the auror wasn't thinking that the questions directed his way had any other meaning other then curiousity and getting to know the person that they had each been paired up with. "Training for a while..." he answered as they waited on the line at the hot dog vendor, turning to keep his attention on his companion but keeping track of things in front of them out of the corner of his eye. "And then working cases as an auror." That was a revelation that could go both ways good or bad from his experience. Either people who were turned off by having a law man around or being so into what they thought was an extremely exciting yet dangerous occupation.
Jonathan was about to return the favor asking the question of Stef when the vendor cleared his throat lightly to get their attention, the auror glancing at the man before back at his companion. "One or two?" he asked politely not wanting to assume anything about her eating habits, gingerly motioning for her to submit her order first though he would be covering both.
Nodding she shrugged "Yep, everyone has their own preferences. To me, as long as they had a good selection of classes and the professors knew what they were doing, it was fine." She hadn't noticed anything odd about his comment, she hadn't had a preference as to where she had wanted to go. Then again she hadn't really had a choice either, not til after her parents had died, but she wanted things to stay normal and her cousin Ali had agreed.
Training? Her eyes widened as he had said that he then worked as an auror "Auror? Wow, that would be quite a position to get into. Do you enjoy it?" she asked looking over at him. It was a good question. If they didn't like the position then it wasn't a good fit, but if they did, than that's where they belonged! She'd not been around too many aurors in her lifetime and she definitely respected those that went into that field. She never thought she'd be able to handle that kind of position.
She was so lost in thought she jumped slightly at the vendor's clearing of his throat. "Oh, just one please." she said nodding "Just saurkraut and ketchup on it please."
