Alec blinked. How to get to the trunk? He took a moment to look at the swishing tree. It didn't look like anyone could get near there! So what was Avery talking about? "Go on," he said, "How do you get to the trunk?" And he knew exactly what to ask her next. Yes yes.
Avery watched Alec's smile grow to a grin. She couldn't help grinning back, smiles seemed to be contagious. "I'm in Hufflepuff, what about you?" she asked. Honestly she didn't care if he were in Slytherin, he was still her friend.
She laughed and Alec's shock and pretended to have to think about it. Then she grabbed his hand, grinned at him and said, "...like...this..." And she dragged him up and they ran towards the tree, dodging the tree branches, avoiding certain places and stepping on her special path to the trunk of the tree.
They dived for the trunk and she reached up and touched the knot in the tree and all the branches, as if by magic, froze where they were harmlessly swaying in the breeze. Avery turned to see Alec reaction.
