Ah...that made sense. The auror inclining his head in acknowledgement at what she was telling him. Russian, blurred a bit by the time spent she had spent in England.

And you're over-analysing things a bit.

Sigh. Always nice to berate oneself but it was the truth. He was being too much of the trained auror that he was when he really should just let it go and enjoy the dat--day without the stricture. And then she was asking about his schooling and about Hogwarts and Jonathan found himself drawn back to answer questions. "Yeah I did," he answered with a nod. Hard to believe at times it had been eight years since last he stepped with said castle.

"What about you? Did you go to Beaubaxtons?" He might have included Hogwarts as a guess as well but with only ten years in England it was only likely if she had spent part of her time schooling there. The French school seeming more likely.
He appeared quite quiet, and content to just answer questions and ask a few of his own. She didn't mind that, she wasn't much of a talker herself really. Her little niece made up for that quite well. So he was from Hogwarts! A smile appeared on her face when he asked if she'd been at Beauxbatons. "Good guess, yes I did. My mum and dad didn't really want me at Hogwarts so they sent me to Beauxbatons." She hadn't really minded where she went, but knew that both schools were very well recommended.

She did wonder what made him guess Beauxbatons though. Did she look that stuck up? She felt many of the girls there had been like that, but she'd been quite the odd one out of the group. More into what fit well and what was more comfortable. Not showing off whatever she got during holidays and such.

She still didn't know how old he was, must be around her age, but wasn't sure. You never could be too sure unless you outright asked. And wasn't that rude to do? Well, hmm maybe a question that might give her an idea. As they reached the short line of people waiting their turn for hot dogs she turned to him again "So what have you done since school?" she asked curiously.
