Keefer skipped toward the classroom, excited for the next Arithmancy lesson. The first one had been truly excellent.

So, it was with some sadness that he observed Professor Hadley. She doesn't look so good. I wonder if she's ok?

"Hullo, Professor Hadley. How are you doing today?"

He set his things down at a desk in the front row and got out parchment, ink, and quill. He scribbled "Arithmancy Lesson 2" at the top of the page, then "Family" underneath it. Ooo, I wonder what we'll be talking about today!
