Post #8 + cleaning up The Kisapaths | Sila!Roti | -2 | TouchableHair | ToiletPaperGuy | QueenOfConfusion Now, repeat. Again. Okay, the first time had been fun but doing the whole polishing thing again was starting to get a bit tiring. So a little halfheartedly, Lewis rubbed the rag over the handle again like before - okay maybe not exactly as accurately as before. He was not going to do this to his broom so soon after all. But it still looked shiny anyway. After the match. Oh Merlin, the match! He really didn't want to think about that.
So back to the handle which was starting to look REALLY REALLY clean. Yes. Placing the rag onto the closed polish-jar, Lewis waited for another five minutes - which he mostly spent by using a drying spell on his pants. Why hadn't he thought of that earlier?! Then he reached for the previously used towel and started buffing the dried polish again until most of it was gone.
He REALLY didn't want to do that whole step again, so when he leaned forward a little to look at the handle Lewis just pretended he could see his reflection. It was a little blurry but it was close enough. Or something. And after that...they were done?!
Carefully placing every item back into the broom care kit, Lewis took it, the towel and the rag he had used and walked back to the front. The kit went onto the stack to the professor's left, the towel into the towel bin - there really were A LOT of used towels now - and the rag into the rag bin. Now only the broom was left and then he was free to go.
After having packed up all his remaining things, Lewis grabbed the broom off the table and hurried to back to the front. Once the broom was safely back on its rack, Lewis turned into the professor's general direction again and said, "Goodbye, professor." And with that he left the broomshed only to hurry back up to the castle to get out of the cold. |
