The ball of light came at her with blinding speed and she was barely able to dodge it, the light skimming against her stomach in its haste to crash into the wall. Sparks flew into the second year's long blonde hair as she coughed from the smoke billowing from the burnt plaster. "
That was great, Maxwell!" She said in a raspy voice as she cleared her throat, beaming at the boy. She was sure as anything that if she hadn't moved in time, the spell would have hit her square on and she would have gone flying, her wand ripped from her hand.
Now, if only she could cast
her charm that well.
The girl steadied her wand, holding it up and moving it in the upside-down interrogation mark, as the professor had instructed. The tip of her wand started to glow as light flew from her wand and toward Maxwell. "
Expelliarmus!" she said, and hoped, for better or for worse, that it would work.
