After all, it was only disarming, it was such an easy spell for someone with his knowledge... He turned back to Stella, or as she probably would prefer, Mademoiselle Gardier. With a small movement of his left hand, the wand was already out of its holster and in his hand.

"So..." he said, letting that hang in the air for a moment. So, who should go first? After one more second, he figured it was enough time to caution her too that he was shooting. She should be grateful just for that--in a real duel, the opponent would savour every moment of distraction. Raising his wand, he made the 'd' movement as he spoke the spell clearly: "Expelliarmus!" The red jet of flash left his wand. Yeah. It was easy.
Hearing loud bangs coming from elsewhere in the room, Stella let her attention waver for a moment as it seemed João was still contemplating whether to start practicing or not. Obviously there wouldn't be a bomb in class, but it was amusing that someone would think so. She hoped nobody had gotten hurt from spell backfiring, though. She didn't have too much time to consider, either way, as she noticed the flick in her peripheral vision and t urned back to her partner to see that he'd taken his wand out finally.

She raised an eyebrow a little at his drawn out word, and shifted her grip on her own wand to be ready to use it when necessary. Especially because she wasn't stupid. He was obviously trying to take her off guard, being one of those typical Slytherins that irritated Matt so much. Stereotypes, but it was just as obvious that he thought she wasn't going to be prepared. Dropping her wand hand momentarily, she watched the red flash of light just miss, then brought her wand back up in the tight d movement Professor Romanos requested, aiming for his wand. "Expelliarmus!," she cast, smiling a little as she waited to see if her spell would hit.
