When he finished talking, Evelyn gave a small frown. "As you said, it's in your head. I'm sure you can talk to people very well..I just think that you're nervous." She was clearly stating the obvious and she was clearly NOT an expert on human behavior. But yeah, she was trying to help him.
He shrugged. Of course it was all in his head, nearly everything was in his head. Nearly everything was or could be in anbody's head. He just got really nervous. And homesick. But he'd done a pretty good job about not thinking about that so far and he wasn't going to start now. He turned his attention back to the girl.
"Second," Tristan replied plainly. He'd actually just turned twelve a few weeks ago. The thought made the boy stand up a tad bit straighter. He supposed the polite thing to do would be to ask her what year she was in. At least, that's what his mother would tell him.
"What year are you?"
