"Thirteen doesn't last long." Van answered, waving his hand dismissively. He knew Lily was of two minds about Brysen growing up, she wanted him to be her baby forever.

A bit of a ridiculous notion, but he loved her anyway.

"Try." Van answered succinctly. "I'm more worried about her than I am about you, y'big lug." Izzy hadn't had it easy and he knew that he played his own part in that. They'd been young, and while things were alright now, history was history and it mattered.

Van took the list, glanced over it and then got to work looking.
