Wait!?
...Tate wrote Tillstorm a poem?!
Merlin's beard! Did Tate have a thing for Tillstorm?!
"Well. They
are children, Lafay. You work with children, thus the whole professor title." Strange she should be unhappy that she was surrounded by children, although he
might be purposefully misunderstanding her. Maybe.
"And I don't find threatening anyone with fire to be funny in light of your past." She was lucky to have a job.

Taking her time in getting herself a cup of chamomile, honey and vanilla tea, Seren then claimed one of the unoccupied seats. Not that there were many to choose from.
"Shame. There was a little plaque and a crown." Or not really, but at least Seren wasn't staring at him in absolute confusion. She was rolling with it. Thank Merlin for small miracles.

Hmmph. "Crup crossbreeds?" his ears perked up. "What kind of crossbreed are you thinking? I've heard crup-beagles are interesting pets..." And gosh darn adorable too.
The tea was intended to calm, and it was clearly
not working on the rather ranty CoMC professor. Ah, well... some just ran hot-blooded, and Tate couldn't really fault him for that.
"I suppose the idea in general. I know that some people question the merit of breeding magical and mundane animals and suggest that it makes the temperament of the creature unstable, but most of the crups at the rescue are actually cross-breeds." And he was always researching the possibility of adding another dog to their little family unit.

"I did, thank you. I have it put away for safe keeping." You never know when she might have to pull it out and give that Puff a little reminder of what she said she was going to do... or what she wasn't ever going to do again.
"If it helps, I received one as well. It was... thoughtful." He wasn't sure he wanted students writing him poetry, but under the circumstances, he appreciated the effort the child had put forth.
