Althea relaxed back against the comfy cushions and nodded once. "I felt the same once." She hadn't done the make up thing until her seventh year. Well... she'd tried once in fifth year and had a horrid, horrid experience that did much to shape her current opinions of men and of people in general, but really, she hadn't started to attend to her appearance until her final year at Hogwarts. Late bloomer and all.
"How do you feel about an extra credit assignment, Miss Greingoth?"
She nodded one slow, understanding nod. She was still hesitant to discuss this with anyone, but even she had enough sense to know that if she didn't speak up and say something, she'd never learn. Even still, it didn't stop her from fidgeting or occasionally diverting her attention to some random spot on the wall.
At least no one else could hear them. Taking comfort in that, she spoke up again.
"Okay, well...I can learn it by hand, too," she said. She guessed she'd feel more confident putting it on herself rather than relying on the magical wave of wand. Who knew what she'd end up with if she messed up. Then her brown eyes flickered back to Schirmer. With a curious look in her expression, she asked,
"Extra credit assignment?" As in, what sort of credit? House points? A pat on the back? A chocolate frog?
"What'd you have in mind?"
