It's just still a little new to me and I haven't quite dealt with how different life is here and will be at home." He was grateful that at least he was learning more about himself and what it meant to be a wizard. For most people, Ian included, not knowing was a difficult thing.
Oooo! He set the book aside! That was a good sign. Sophie felt happier when he did that. It meant he wasn't intending on going back to reading soon and she could talk more!
"You probably are one of these people already! The Sorting Hat wouldn't have put you in Hufflepuff if you weren't." And the Sorting Hat was
never wrong, Sophie had heard.
"And you'll get used to everything really soon!" Since it was all so awesome! It wasn't hard to get used to such a cool life style, was it? Not really! At least Sophie didn't think so.
"Besides, you're not the only muggleborn here; everyone gets used to it!" She remembered some stories her dad - who was also a muggleborn - told her. Sophie knew it could be a little tough in the beginning, but Ian would be just fine. All Hufflepuff house would make sure of that.
Anyway. Sophie started thinking about some other things while they were still talking. Her habit of changing topics randomly seemed to be manifesting itself right now.
"Are you having any trouble with your homework? Do you need any help?" Maybe Ian was different from Messer, who didn't want help from girls, apparently. She smirked at the thought of the other first year, remembering how he was having a hard time with his homework but didn't want her to help him.
