You're one of the first people I've actually talked to at length since I arrived. It was easier than letting people judge me." He told her this with a little ache in his heart. He desperately wanted to fit in because he never really had at home, except when he was around the fishermen. He also smiled, thinking of his mum at home, doing what she always did. Cooking for the family and making sure everyone was ok.
He got a little excitement from hers. "Well, I suppose now...I can't wait either."
He was a little startled when she introduced him to a new person. A boy their own age. He obviously didn't sleep in the same room. Ian stammered out a response. "I-i-i don't think so." He sheepishly held out his hand. He was just getting used to one person and now another person was introduced. He took a deep breath. This was going to be interesting.
Sophie was glad the boy was opening up a little. She would never let a fellow badger feel isolated. Again, only if they wanted to...
She shook her head.
"No one here will judge you!" Not for being magical, at least.
"You're lucky to have been sorted to the nicest, friendliest and most AWESOME house of Hogwarts!" Sophie's eyes twinkled when she said that. She had always loved Hufflepuff for being her mother's house, and now she loved it even more. It was
her house as well!
"Really, once you get to know everybody, you'll see that I'm not lying!"
