And now Carter was thinking about all the things that he'd do with a house plant. It would have to be one of those leafy ones that had the huge leaves. And he'd probably name it Suzy -- Suzy seemed like a good plant name. And he'd have to water and talk to it. His mum always said that talking to plants helped them grow.
Not that he was going to have a house plant named Suzy while Destiny was living with him. That girl had a big mouth. The last thing he needed was some headline about him being mad and talking to plants.
Destiny already had enough material to embarrass him. He didn't need to give her any more.

"I am NOT growing talons!" he hissed at her looking around. This was exactly why he liked staying at home on his days off.
"Don't you have enough animals to know the difference between talons and toes?" And if she didn't, he wasn't planning on letting her get a bird. They'd just have to go to the zoo again. Speaking of which... what was the next one on the list? And more importantly... did it have an elephant you could feed?
He eyed her suspiciously. "Not just not mention anything. You can't go around getting my sister weird things." Especially potions. Carter had already told Anya to be weary of any food or drink the former snake offered her.
And then maybe they'd talk about this streeler business.
