And then... she missed him. Just those three words seemed to do something to Dallin. And he actually wanted to talk to Ellie now. So, he looked up at her and scooted down the bench closer to her. "I miss you too." The words came from him without permission, but he didn't stop himself once he was talking. "And you're -" An idiot. But he didn't want to say that. " - silly." Eh. that worked. "Protect me? You're mental if you really thought I would be fine with you leaving me."
Well... he could have chosen his words better there. Oh well, though. Too late to change them now.
It actually surprised her when Dallin scooted down the bench closer to her. Ellie looked up at him just as he said that he missed her too. That right there made her really happy, and she smiled. But... he kept talking and soon her smile faded.
She was silly. And apparently mental? Ellie frowned slightly. Well, that wasn't very nice. She looked away for a moment, ready to be offended, but... Ellie knew Dallin's intentions weren't to be mean (at least she hoped not). He was just stating a fact.
Ellie sighed and nodded a little.
"Yeah. I guess I was mental." She laughed quietly. Biting her lip, she looked back up at him.
"I never knew you were such a great actor, though. You seemed fine every time I saw you. I saw you smile. And... kissanothergirl." Ellie looked away again. She was still kind of bitter about that, no matter what Louisa said about it. It was probably just raging jealousy that Vashti got to kiss Dallin. What made it worse was that Vashti didn't even seem to enjoy it. What a wasted kiss...
