When they met? Fought? Broke up?

He looked away again. Try as he might, he couldn't find the words he wanted to say. And he really did try. He didn't want to just sit here and have Ellie do all the talking. But all he was thinking was how just being around her was making him go insane. Because he wanted to tell her he missed her... and that he wanted her back. And he wanted to kiss her. But he couldn't do or say any of that.

So... he kept quiet.
... Apparently, Dallin wasn't going to say anything. Though really, Ellie couldn't blame him. She was being really vague. But how was she supposed to say everything that she wanted to say when she didn't know how he felt? Well, she kind of knew. Louisa basically said Ellie was mental if she believed that Dallin didn't love her.

Which made her wonder why he would kiss someone else right in front of her... Which, Louisa said, was because he wanted to make Ellie jealous because he still felt something for her. Ellie was just hoping Louisa was right. Because here went everything.

"I regret breaking up with you." She confessed. Phew. Even just that small confession felt good off of her chest. She was tempted to just stop there, but she knew there was more to be said. "I've done some pretty stupid things in my life, but that was by far the most idiotic thing I've done yet." She leaned back and laughed quietly at her own stupidity. Ugh. And she added 'yet' because she was sure she would end up doing something stupid in the years to come.

"I don't know what I was thinking... I felt like I needed to protect you by leaving you alone, but that only made things worse for us. Well... At least for me." Ellie glanced at Dallin before looking at the ground again. It was kind of really horrible being without Dallin for a whole month. Longer than a month, even.

And then her eyes went back up to Dallin's. "I miss you," she told him very quietly. She just hoped he missed her too.
