The elderly man regarded the lady, but said nothing. Ladies scared him. He pulled out his cane from the back of his wheelchair and stood up, shuffling toward the bench with his coffee and a doughnut he had bought on his way to work. He was to tired to go home or to the Ministry, so he sat down and pretended that tumbleweed was rolling across the isolated little street. The old man poked the imaginary weed with his cane as he sipped his slightly cooled coffee. Yummy. Was he...scared of her?! Okay, maybe she shouldn't have gotten right into his face like that but she had been worried. Worried that the collision might have...you know...hurt him. Well, at least he was alright. Sort of. A little confused, though, it seemed. Plus he hadn't really acknowledged her presence in any way yet. Or not in any nice way anyway.
Watching him fixing the dent, then suddenly - well, as suddenly as a man his age could - take out his cane and walk over to the bench she had just been sitting on, Alysson just stared after him for a moment. Right. Weirdo. She then took the weelchair and pushed it over to the bench, parking it on the side he was sitting on before taking a seat next to him again. "Sooo...you ARE alright then?" Alysson tried again with a friendly smile, scooting a little closer to him to make sure he heard her too. Maybe he was deaf or almost deaf and that was why he hadn't answered her before. |
