William finished jotting down the last bets and then nodded to all the kids. "All right, stay back now. Round three is about to begin!" He got the hippogriffs ready then also jogged away from the enclosure, shooting off his wand with a cannon sound once he was in the clear.

The hippogriffs, pumped for this third race, all took off like feather cannons of their own. They raced around the track, passing the first bend with all neck-in-neck for first. As they neared the finish line, however, the hippogriffs' personalities came into play.

Prissy ol' Winnerwings, who always thought she was better than the other hippogriffs, started to edge ahead of Quickhooves and the rest in a small attempt to avoid their stinkiness. Quickhooves nipped at her but remained in a solid second, while Tailfeathers and Talonfingers battled it out for third and fourth.

William whooped for them all as Winnerwings edged ahead by an entire stride an crossed the finish line first, with Quickhooves taking second and Tailfeathers and Talonfingers taking third and fourth, respectively.

He collected the hippogriffs and rubbed them all down, leaving them by their water troughs as he went to dole out the winnings. "Congratulations, Jezzabelle and Oakey!" He beamed and handed the Gryffindor a whopping twelve galleons and the Hufflepuff two galleons. "Congratulations to ALL who gambled! You may now bow to the hippogriffs and approach them respectfully, so long as they're finished drinking."

Williamson smiled around at them all and then made up a completed list of the winners and how many galleons they had collected at this event.
