Alllllrighty. Time for some tender care and love for her precious little fire-seed plant.
Ellie entered the dark greenhouse and shivered. It was dark and damp and it kind of gave her the creeps. But, this was homework. And Ellie was determined to get as many house points as possible; she wanted Ravenclaw to win the house cup for her final year at Hogwarts.
Once she found her plant, Ellie was surprised to see a little sprout poking out of the soil. Well, that was fast!
Oh, safety first. Ellie pulled out her dragonhide gloves and slipped them on. Now she wouldn't burn her dainty little fingers.
The first step was to make sure it was dark enough for the plant to grow. But Ellie saw a little patch of sunlight that was peeking through the ivy on the window. Hm. Ellie pursed her lips and carefully walked over to the ivy.
Was she supposed to... talk to it? Sure... Ellie cleared her throat and spoke quietly.
"Erm... could you... move over a little? Cover that patch of sun poking through?" Ellie asked nicely. She pointed to the empty space and watched as the ivy slowly but surely moved to cover the sunny spot.
"Thank you - oh." The ivy then tried wrapping itself around her finger. Remembering what Professor Bentley did when it got tangled in her hair, Ellie used her other hand to stroke it gently. She wasn't going to kiss it though.
"Thank you... dear plant." She said awkwardly and the ivy started letting go. Ellie pet it until it went back to the window.
Looking back at her plant, Ellie smiled and sighed with relief. It was plenty dark now.
