But for this to seem real, Sherman was forced to enter from the isolated phone booth. It was so lonely around here, he wouldn't be surprised if a pile of tumbleweed rolled across the street.
The crippled man was feeling quite nervous, though. He hadn't been late to work a single day before and, of course, this had to happen on the new Department Head's watch. Sherman's anxious feelings and lack of shut eye finally triggered his narcolepsy, sending the snoring old man's wheelchair rolling past the young lady on the bench and crashing into the phone booth. Leaning back further, Alysson even closed her eyes for a moment just feeling the wind brush against her cheeks. This was pretty relaxing and her mind started to drift off to other places. Thinking about her brothers. Her life. Home. Real home. She still didn't consider her apartment home. Hadn't even when she'd still been living there with Jeremy.
Alysson was all of sudden pulled out of her musing when she heard a loud crash. Well, maybe it hadn't even been that loud but what with her eyes closed, her ears were even more alert than usual. Straightening up with a jerk, she opened her eyes to look for the source of the loud noise and finally found herself looking at an old man in a wheelchair. Who had apparently crashed right into the phone booth. "Whoa, are you okay?!" She called out to him while quickly gathering up her stuff to hurry over to him. "Sir?" Once next to him Alysson regarded the man in the wheelchair for a moment, a little puzzled by what she saw. Was he...was he asleep!? Or...no, he had to be asleep. She wouldn't accept any other option right now. The collision hadn't been that bad, had it? Had it?! "Sir?!" Please wake up! |
