How his sweet cousin became friends with him, aside from getting him to do her homework, Hunter would never get. They were total opposites from what he could tell. " Thank you, Hailey. I knew you would understand." And then she called him charming as well! He knew he loved this girl for a reason! He did have to keep from pushing her hand off when she petted him though but that was normal.
If Hunter ever need to burn extra calories all he'd have to do is be around Michael. With the number of times he's glared at him, Hunter was almost positive he burned off all of the calories he'd gained in the past month or so. Maybe he would even completely stop "working out" altogether and just sit around Aria and Mikey at the same time! Sure, they'd bring down his confidence quite a bit, but at least he'd lose some weight. Not that he's gained weight yet, it's still waiting to kick in. Anyway... "I don't see how, no matter what you say, you're still rude. He was slowly regretting ever coming here. He'd have gotten more studying done back in the common room...or at a quidditch game. "I know she's your friend. Granted, I don't actually know why, but fine, it's your life. But I would never try and drown a person." Especially not a girl. That's just wrong. Who drowns girls? He let out a very long and very loud sigh. "Let's just drop it?" He knew the subject would just come back up the next time they saw each other anyway.
Then Hunter sat back to let Mikey explain what exactly was going on here. He'd have to tell his best friend the truth. What kind of best friend wouldn't? "What?" Apparently, Mikey is that best friend. Hunter scoffed and rolled his eyes. What was the boy so afraid of? Did he approve of him crushing on his cousin? Not really. But that didn't mean he shouldn't tell her anyway! "You're a liar!" Hunter stood up, sat down, stood up, and sat down again. "You've got to be kiddiiing." Then he threw his head down against the table with a smack and wished it could explain things he wasn't quite understanding in life. So maybe he was a bit of a drama queen. What did anyone expect? Haily made gagging noises when she heard this, of course, but tried to pass it off as a cough.
She was glad when Hunter finally asked to drop the subject, and she was only too happy to comply. "Yeahhh, Mikey. Just drop it," She said with a roll of her eyes.
But then things went back to that awkwaaaard stage. Because as dull as Hailey was, she could certainly tell when she was being played. Or thought she could.
So when Mikey said, 'No, she isn't the girl. That would just be completely awkward if she were the girl,' Hailey's brow wrinkled in confusion. And then the Ravie proceeded to say that she was the one whom, he did all the homework for, much to Hunter's surprise. What?!
"But...but you just said I wasn't the girl...and now you're saying I am," She trailed off, watching him and then stared at Hunter. She didn't like puzzles, okay! She had enough trouble finding her socks in the morning.
But then the tables turned--Hunter apparently didn't agree with Mikey's answer, either and had evidently called him--a liar? What? Now Hailey's eyes were as big as saucers as she witnessed her agitated cousin.
Mikey wouldn't lie to her...would he? It hurt her to think so but Hunter had said so himself. And she trusted Hunter. But her Slytherin cousin could have been misinformed or something.
Still, Hailey remained unsure and her eyes, showing the hurt, turned to the dark haired boy she called her best friend.
Okay, so maybe friend wasn't the exact word to use. But Mikey had known Aria longer than these two combined and he was usually at her grandmother's house with his. But the term friend was kind of appropriate after all. And now Hunter asked to drop the subject? Tough luck since Mikey knew he wouldn't drop the 'girl' subject and would keep running his mouth. And to add on onto the whole situation, Hailey kept agreeing with everything Hunter was saying and proposing. Nice to know she had chosen her side, all because she didn't like Aria. But Mikey didn't say anything to her. He just glared at her hard for the first time ever. It was easy to see he was losing his patience with them both. "I'm not lying about anything. You're the one who misunderstood what I said," he said, picking his things up and placing them into his bag. "I'm talking about another girl, Rose," was all he said before getting up. "Now if you Scots don't mind, I'll be going now. I don't feel like being around a certain little vampire and her cousin who thinks he's charming and he obviously has the charm of a dead slug!" Mikey added, a bit loudly, and not caring at this point if the librarian heard him or not. He turned on his heel and headed towards the door, but not before mentioning something to Rose. "Oh, and if you need help with your homework, I'm sure your charming cousin wouldn't mind racking his brain a bit for the answers," And with that, the nerdy Ravvie left his so called sanctuary.
