"Yes, spiders. It's not I'm scared of them, they just surprised me... and I didn't want them to crawl over to me." Under her shirt and over her hair, eeew! She shuddered. And there Adam went on about Little John like Hadley did, Louisa rolled her eyes, "Yeah, I'm aware that he doesn't mean to hurt my feelings or anything which is why I don't hate him." Nope, she really doesn't hate the boy... she just isn't a big fan either. "Well, the shirts they told us to wear were like tunic, he thought he looked like Robin Hood, which he didn't. And he had the illusion that every Robin Hood needed a Little John." SCOFF. "That was supposed to make me want to wear the filthy shirt. Didn't he know that calling a girl, Little John, is a big no-no?" Apparently not. With a low sigh, she forced a smile, "Anyways, it's nothing now. I'm getting used to his childish behavior."
The really weird thing was that Adam seemed quite... okay with it. He did sound sad but it was nothing compared to Ellie from last night. Maybe it was the fact that girls were usually more sensitive than boys? Yeah, that must be it. However, Louisa was fuming at that stupid girl to dump her best friend for such a senseless reason. "It's her loss, Adam. She's stupid to give away a person like yourself." The girl scooted closer and wrapped her hands around one of his arms, leaning a bit on him. She was just being a supportive friend.
"He is pretty special...I think we're pretty lucky to have found him the way that we did," Adam said with a little smile.
Adam noticed as Louisa explained the spider situation. He could understand that. After all even though he wouldn't go out of his way to kill a spider or any other bug really, that didn't mean that he was okay with the little buggers crawling all over him. As Louisa began to describe what they were wearing Adam couldn't help but form a visual, a little smile playing across his lips as he imagined Louisa standing in a huge shirt that probably smelled horrible, completely unhappy to be there, while Paulie merely joked about the situation, referring to good old Robin Hood. Of course Adam could understand why Louisa wouldn't take too kindly to being called Little John.
"Yeah...perhaps he could have nicknamed you after one of the female characters," Adam said with a small smile. He was about to say the queen that Robin Hood falls in love with, but considering why they had gotten into detention in the first place, he had a feeling that would have only made their situation worse. He shook his head slightly as Louisa referred to getting used to his childish behavior. Well that wasn't exactly the word that he would have used, but he figured he'd let it go and just be happy that the two of them had found a common ground to get along on.
"Thanks Louisa," Adam said, clearing his throat again to try and keep back the hurt in his voice. He let Louisa hold onto him arm, looking out at the ducks before letting out a sigh.
"It doesn't stop it from hurting though, you know? I just...I really wanted us to work, but I guess it wasn't meant to be." Oh disappointment. Adam was just far too familiar with it.
