Hurling Hex .15
Sixth Year
They were back in the Quidditch stalls, looking out at the match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Lily and Remus were sitting together at the back of a stall, watching out to make sure everyone was behaving themselves. An hour into the match, Lily was watching James as he zoomed back and forth in the air for the quaffle. If she hadn’t been watching him, she wouldn’t have seen him shaking. She knew James was a very good flyer.
“Remus look at James,” she said pointing him out.
“What’s he doing?” he asked.
Lily picked up her binoculars and looked out at him, “He isn’t doing anything, his broom has been… It’s a Hurling Hex!” she said, scanning the crowd. Her heart fell as she saw Severus was the one performing the hex.
She stood up and gave the binoculars to Remus, then bent down behind Sirius. Tugging on his robes, he spun around. When he saw her, he was smiling and she said “Look at James.”
“Oh Lily, no – he likes you not me,” Sirius said.
Lily frowned, “Neither do I, that’s not what I mean, look at his broom! Severus is hexing it.”
Sirius scanned the crowd for Snivellus.
