Oh. Condescending? Louisa frowned a bit. "I'm sorry. I really don't want to lie to you, Ellie. I am very sad about the whole situation and you both know what my opinion is on the matter." Louisa had taken her hand away from Ellie's arm by then. "I'm very flattered that you'd wanted to talk to me, of all people." A genuine smile was drawn on the girl's face and her cheeks flushed of gratitude. "It means a lot."
So. Sympathy? Let's try this one more time. "So tell me Ellie. What's happened?" Funny Vashti was not around to annoy Louisa to go to bed now. Heh. The head girl probably had more important matters to her. Well, at least she wouldn't have time to make Louisa feel guilty about her detention and all.
Louisa was frowning now and it kind of made Ellie feel bad. But she listened as the girl spoke and nodded a little. Yeah, Ellie knew her opinion. She thought they were both stupid and perfect for each other and that breaking up was the worst thing to do. That's what everyone else had said too.
But then Louisa was smiling a real smile. Ellie smiled back.
"I'm just glad I can trust you. So thanks." N'aww, tender moment with Louisa and Ellie. First time
ever. But it was nice.
Well. Now was time to spill. Ellie took a deep breath and sighed heavily. Louisa was about to get the whooooole deal. Starting with the end of Ellie's fourth year.
"I had a boyfriend before Dallin," she began. And she wouldn't go into detail because... the break up was horrible, to say the least.
"And when we broke up, I was crushed. And I was kind of moping around for a while afterwards... KindoflikeIamrightnow..." Huh. That sounded familiar.
"Anyway, my best friend at the time told me that I just needed to move on. I needed to find a cute guy to flirt with and completely get over him. Because obviously, he wasn't coming back." Ellie sighed again. That was a silly idea.
"So, I did. And I found Dallin. And we flirted... A lot. And then we kissed, after only meeting like, twenty minutes before."
Ellie groaned quietly and buried her face in her hands. When she lifted her head back up, she looked at Louisa pathetically.
"I used Dallin as my rebound. And I knew it at the time, but as time went on I just... didn't think about it much anymore. I mean, it was still in the back of my mind, but... I dunno." Ellie shrugged. She really didn't know that it would come up two years later.
Ugh.
"Anyway, I somehow stupidly managed to get it into a conversation with Dallin last month and we were kind of yelling at each other and I told him he was my rebound... I didn't mean to, but... I did. And he left. Well, he kind of ran away actually." Ellie stared at her bed covers and fidgeted with her teddy bear. She was frowning.
"We avoided each other for several days until he finally came and talked to me. That's when I broke up with him. Because when he ran away, I knew I hurt him really bad and I didn't want to do that anymore. I hated seeing him like that and I felt absolutely horrible. So I left him."
Ellie looked back up at Louisa sadly and hoped that Louisa didn't think she was pathetic. Or just a horrible person in general. Oh, there was more.
"And then these past few days, I thought we were making progress. Because we miss each other like hell, obviously. So we've been talking a lot and I kind of thought that everything was going to be okay. And then..." This is where the recent news came in. The part that made Ellie cry. But she wasn't really crying anymore, she was just really upset and mad. And sort of outraged? Yeah.
"I saw him today on the stairs. He was talking to Vashti. We were waiting for the stairs to move back to the other hallway and he saw me. And as soon as he did, he kissed Vashti. Right in front of me. And I knew he did it just to make me feel bad. Because I had kind of done the same thing with him. I kissed him after Alex broke up with me."
And that was that. The whole story. Ellie sighed and rubbed her face in her hands. It kind of felt good to get it off her chest, though.
