"Curses are used to harm, cause pain and death to the target. And like jinxes and hexes, one must also learn the counter spells for curses" he added. This is after all defense against the dark arts so yeah, learning the counter spells to defend yourself from dark magic is surely a must for this subject.

Oh right, an example. "The full body-bind curse which is also known as the Body freezing spell is an example" and the spell is "Petrificus Totalus"
