She was barely able to keep going. All this huffing and puffing and jumping - how did other people do it? She could barely keep going, and now her legs were starting to feel like jelly. She was trying not to stand still at all, otherwise she would have buckled at the knees and fallen over, and she would have been flat on the ground. Her muscles would have hurt too much to get up as well. But not to think about! She kept going, and going. Past pole six, past pole seven... half way to pole eight; oh yes she cleared it! She stopped and clutched on to the 8th pole, catching her breath. She was so embarrassed she was so un-fit.
