Distraction 40. Sonorus
Regulus circled, searching for a flash of gold and fluttering wings, and reminded himself to listen to the commentary. They needed to be leading by three hundred points before he caught the snitch so that no one would be able to take the cup, no matter what happened during the year.
Both teams scored and just as Regulus was checking the difference, another voice with a stronger sonorous charm filled the air. Regulus didn’t pause, but immediately blushed at the words. It was his brother.
“And there goes the Slytherin seeker. I remember when he used to wet the bed. There was also a stuffed doll he was afraid of, and you should have seen him cower from thunder!”
Regulus grit his teeth at the sound of laughter and turned, ready to fly at Sirius and knock him right out of the stands. Before he could, a bludger flew at his brother’s face, the intent kept cleverly ambiguous by the fact that a Hufflepuff chaser had just passed the same spot.
“You just wait until I’m a beater, Dolohov!” The charm broke.
“Keep your head in the game, Black,” Dolohov shouted as he passed. Regulus smirked and continued his search.
