As
announced last year, the
Harry Potter film series received the Special Achievement in Filmmaking award at the 2012 National Board of Review gala. The ceremony took place in New York City this past Tuesday, and although the pair did not walk the red carpet, star Daniel Radcliffe and producer David Heyman did attend to pick up the award - the final installment,
Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was also chosen as one of the NBR's top films. A photo of the pair holding the accolade can be found in high-resolution in our
galleries.
Rounding out the
Harry Potter awards news,
Deathly Hallows: Part 2 won Best Makeup and Best Sound at tonight's 2012 Critics Choice Awards, which took place in Los Angeles. The finale of the series was also nominated in the Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction, but lost out to
Rise of the Planet of the Apes and
Hugo, respectively.
Dan will also be back in the U.K. early next week, where he will be announcing the nominations for the 2012 Orange BAFTA Film Awards on Tuesday morning alongside fellow actor Holliday Grainger. We will have much more on that, including if
Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is recognised in any categories, soon after the announcements are made.
