Pam walked into the dorms, and changed into her pajamas. Putting her arm up to her mouth and taking a sniff, she could vaugly smell her house. The sent of pancakes that wafted up to her room every morning. The smell of her dad as he would playfully sit on her to wake her up. The sents she would never smell again. Tears filled her eyes as she thought of her burnt down home. Of Keegan pulling her father from the burning house. She couldn't bear the thought of losing her father. Even her mother, who was lost in the wreckage, was someone she didn't want to be without.
Sleeping was something Pam had long past lost. Instead, she climbed into her sheets, and curled into a ball. She spent the long hours of the night, imagining what had happened to her parents. And when that became unbearable, she thought about the letter Jared sent her. The letter that burned through her pillow. Was she really just a 'pet' to her friends? Was Nate really just staying her 'friend' because he felt sorry for her?
