Lugging his telescope around was hard work. Because it was heavy and such, and Darwin was quite a small boy - he wished he wasn't, but there was no escaping the fact that the eleven year old hadn't hit a growth spurt yet. And that annoyed him.

What didn't annoy him, however, was actually using his telescope. He hadn't done much except for at home, and then he hadn't had a very good view point. The Astronomy Tower had to be good though - the clue was in the title, and so Darwin enthusiastically took it to the top of the stairs and began to set it up at one of the openings. The sun had just set, and night hadn't properly fallen, but he could just make out the first few stars, and any stars were awesome.

Weren't they like big balls of fire? Like mini suns? And weren't some of them REALLY big, but he just couldn't see them because they were so far away?

That was all he remembered from Muggley school science, and he was pretty sure that Magicy Astronomy would be much more interesting. They'd actually learn stuff apart from the song that listed the planets, probably. Hopefully, at least, he thought to himself, as he began looking through his 'scope, now singing the annoyingly catchy tune under his breath.
