James is my REAL name | Pokah Face | Scheming Marauder | True Marauder | Foster the People William strolled down the hill, his robes were latched tightly and he was also wearing a thick winter cloak. It was only October, but he had the immune system of a three-year-old and didn't want to take a chance of getting some kind of sickness. In his small hand, he clutched the notice he had received informing him of a "Founder's Fandango" event out on the grounds. He noticed a small group of people near the Duck Pond and headed in that direction. As he got closer, he cautiously approached the Shuffleboard court, tentative as to how to play this game. There were a few students nearby, pushing small discs with broom-shaped paddles into a triangle with numbers on it. He had never heard of this game before, let alone played it. He was about to turn around and head off to some other activity before he decided against leaving.
Turning around, he approached the court, picked up a paddle and three discs, and moved toward the playing spot. He placed a disc, which was kind of heavy, on the court and eyed the triangular score zone off in the distance. Lining up the puck with his paddle, he pushed with all his might, sliding the paddle against the ground and pushing the puck down the court. The puck slid askew; William kept his eyes closed. He opened his eyes after a few moments. The puck had landed in the middle trapezoid. That meant eight points for himself! Delighted, he moved out of the way for the others. Perhaps he wouldn't be rubbish at this game, like so many other things he was bad at. |
