Professor Roslund turned to August. "Are you sure it’s a real comet and not a satellite or a big owl?" Owls were known to be taken for something else entirely. As if his thought was confirmed Hades exclaimed that he saw something big and black moving across the sky which turned out to be nothing but an owl out on a late night flight.
Kurumi joined in the conversation also convinced that they had found an undiscovered comet. "May I?" Professor Roslund asked as the lioness prefect moved away from her telescope. Crouching a bit he stuck his right eye to the lens and moved the scope around until he saw IT right there next to Altair just as Kurumi had stated. Excited he exclaimed "It is a comet, an actual Comet." Containing his excitement somewhat Professor Roslund said to the lions "This is big news. We.You need to take notes of the discovery noting the time and place etc. Then you need to give it a name and also go tell Headmaster Tate. He needs to be informed. It’s quite possible that this comet sighting has something to do with Hogwarts in only a few days will be 1000 years old." Or it could be just coincidence but Professor Roslund hoped not.

Owls couldn't do that. Nope. It was so not an owl.
However, all was forgiven and forgotten when the professor announced that they had in fact found a comet and Kurumi jumped up and down several times before throwing her arms around August to hug him. Team Goldberry for the win! Her eyes widened in some emotion of pride and fear when he suggested that they bring proper documentation to the Headmaster. "
R-R-Really?" she stammered in surprise. "
I actually have all that written down right here, Professor," she said as she handed him the
parchment. Unless he was implying that they needed more specific information like degrees of latitude and longitude, to which she didn't have the proper instruments to measure that right now. Maybe August did?

You’ve added in the correct description of a comet and the time and date. Good, good." Handing the parchments back to Kurumi with a smile pursing his lips, "You need to show the headmaster to get the permission to take more measurements and to get the Goldberry comet recognized, maybe with an article in the Daily Prophet? I’ll of course help you two in any way you need." Edvard didn’t want this to be about him but about his students.

Kurumi accepted the paper back and then glanced at August. Who would have thought that one little homework assignment could have done all this?! Her jaw dropped when there was mention of an article in the Daily Prophet and she was SUPER relieved that her father no longer worked there. Knowing him, it would have turned into an ode several pages long. She shivered at the thought.
"Thank you, professor," Kurumi chirped with a small bow. "Is the Headmaster gives us permission, August and I will go to your office." Because, well, neither one of them knew what sort of measurements they really needed or how to go about doing them. She then turned to look at August. "Want to go see the Headmaster tomorrow?"
August couldn't help starring at the Astronomy Professor with a small look of disbelief as he asked whether or not August and Kurumi knew what they had saw and if they hadn't mistaken it as an owl or something. Pffft. They knew what they had seen. It was still there for Merlin's sake.
Glad that the guy had decided to take a look before it had disappeared, his grin grew as he spoke, telling them they had, in fact, discovered a new comet. The hug was expected from Kurumi and the Gryffindor hugged her back, he was going to do the same thing if she hadn't done it herself.
"Kurumi, this is insane!"
Professor Roslund continued to go on, mentioning a meeting with the Headmaster, this being possibly part of the school's 1000 year anniversary, and a possible Daily Prophet article. He would have never in a million years guessed this would happen when he had walked up the stairs to the Observatory. Kurumi was in charge now. She knew more about Astronomy than he did and he watched eagerly as the Prefect handed over the parchment with their records and such things on it.
"Thanks Professor Roslund. We will come see you right after we see what the Headmaster says on the matter." he was beaming with excitment at this point. He then turned to Kurumi as she asked him a question that had an obvious answer.
"Of course I want to see the Headmaster, first thing in the morning, ok?"
He would not be getting any sleep tonight anyways.
