Text Cut: Stella's notes
1. Charm pot to heat itself.
2. Fill half of pot up with soil and let it rest for several minutes to warm up.
3. Carefully take a single fire seed with dragon hide gloves and place on top of the soil.
4. Cover fire seed with soil, so that pot is filled. Pat the soil down a little (not too much, you don't want to suffocate it).
5. Water the fire seed with boiling water, without drowning it.

For boiling water, add water (via aguamenti) to the watering can and heat it. This will ensure you 1. control the temperature and 2. don't over water your seed. Use a VERY small amount, simply enough to moisten the soil.

The seed looked comfortable, partly nestled in the soil underneath it. Stella felt like it was safe to move on to the next step, at least. Getting the little seed all cozy underneath the rest of the soil, even if she worried that not being able to see that the seed was still glowing would mean it wasn't going to grow. Professor Bentley had told them to cover it up, though, and it seemed like the watering was more dangerous than just finishing the planting. So she figured it was alright to go back to the extra soil, slowly adding it to her pot on top of the still-glowing seed.

She wondered if they needed to warm the new soil up, like they'd needed to do to the base soil. The pot could only do so much, she thought, but gently pressing down of the top layer of soil, she felt the tiniest bit of warmth filtering through. "You're still doing alright, little seed?," she whispered, leaning over her pot so hopefully nobody would hear her talking to the now-buried fire seed. She didn't want anyone to think she was crazy, after all, even if most or the other students still there seemed more occupied with their own planting than they were paying attention to what was going on around them. Maybe it was just her. But everything she could feel right now told her she wasn't messing this up.
