| Post 5 Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Last but not least, he was to water the fireseed. It was something they did whenever they planted or replanted anything but there was the added fact that the water needed to be boiling hot, not just the temperature it was when it came from a wand. Retrieving a watering can like he had seen others do, he brought back to his work area. "Aquamenti..." he cast filling the can with enough water to give it a good dose but not to drown it. Now we were to use the spell from before...right?
Hearing it being said from a classmate who was on the same step he was, Gideon took the hint and slipped his wand out once more to take care of it. "Chaudensis..." he said clearly, casting the spell with a circular motion of his wand as before. Before long the watering can was warming and the heat transfered to the water boiling it. When he was satisfied with the condition of the water, the Gryffindor gingerly gripped the handle and picked it back up, tilting it over his pot to water the fire-seed and straightening it up to stop the flow when he believed it to be watered enough. Quote: 1. Charm pot to heat itself.
2. Fill half of pot up with soil and let it rest for several minutes to warm up.
3. Carefully take a single fire seed with dragon hide gloves and place on top of the soil.
4. Cover fire seed with soil, so that pot is filled. Pat the soil down a little (not too much, you don't want to suffocate it).
5. Water the fire seed with boiling water, without drowning it. "There all done," he mused quietly as he exchanged wand for quill and crossed off the last item of the list. As he moved to clean up, returning everything that wasn't his back to the place where he had gotten it from, Gideon remembered the last instruction from Bentley...putting the pots off to the side. Carefully lifting up said pot, the boy moved it to an open spot remembering to make sure his initials were visible for later. He then stepped back just in time to avoid a friendly vine wanting to curl around his hand, instead keeping it free and simply giving it a light brush. SPOILER!!: Sister Kacie Quote:

Once she was finished practicing Kacie set her wand to the side so she could take down the rest of the instructions. When that was complete she reached into her bag for her goggles and gloves so that everything she needed was out and she didn't have to rummage for them later. Okay... now to get the pot. She thought as she got up to retrieve a pot.
It wasn't like her to be nervious, but she was a little. The thought of the spell not working for her was messing with her concentration. "I can do this," Kacie said for encouragement. First, she put on her goggles and gloves for protection. Second, she picked up her wand and tried rotating her wrist and lipping the spell, but not actually doing it just yet. Let's do this. "Chaudensis!" she said, clearly and rotated her wrist to move her wand, but it wasn't a full rotation. She gave it a moment before taking off one glove to check and see if the spell worked. It was still cool and wasn't getting warmer. Again! "Chaudensis!" She checked again, but still the spell didn't work. What was she doing wrong? She was sure she was saying the spell right, so it had to be how she was moving her wand. She stopped and practicing again, just the rotation. Then she tired it again, third time was a charm right? "Chaudensis!" Kacie said, correctly rotation her wrist this time. She pulled off her glove again to check to see if the spell worked and sure enough it slowly started to warm up. "Yes... I got it and it only took me three tries." she said, happily. "On to the next step."
Grabbing up his belongings, Gideon headed quietly over to his sister to check and see how she was doing. "How is it going Kac?" he asked with a smile as he came up beside her, his bag slung over his shoulder.
