Spotting it, and the planting tools near it Amelia made her way over, careful to avoid the other students that were further along in their preparations than she was. Especially the ones that were actually holding their fire seeds.
Grabbing a little shovel, what were those called again, and a bucket, she began to scoop the soil into the bucket. Once she'd shoveled as much in as she possibly could, she teetered back to her pot. The bucket was really heavy and she wished she hadn't filled it as much as she had, but better she collect more than she needed right at this moment, than have too little and need to negotiate her way back over to the soil before she needed too.
Amelia carefully transferred soil from the bucket into the pot, making sure that it was all even and she wouldn't have too much soil in one place and not enough in another. It was easy and relaxing work and Amelia found that she was done before she knew it.
Scooping a bit of extra soil from the pot she placed it back into the bucket, which still had soil left in it. She'd grabbed a big one in preparation for this after all.
Patting the soil down gently in the pot, she went to collect some more soil for her bucket while she waited for it to warm up enough to receive the fire seed.
Amelia touched the soil gently, and felt that it had grown warmer while she'd gotten some more. Which was good since according to step three it needed to be that way. Only now came the part that she was kind of dreading. Still it would be good to get it done at least.
Reading over the steps once more Amelia opened her bag and took out her dragon hide gloves. She put them on at the bench and also pushed her goggles down. She could be forgetful so better to have the gloves on as soon as she remembered them than to wait until she got closer to the seeds. Otherwise she'd probably burn herself, and she didn't need more scars from fire.
As she walked over to the seeds she took several deep, hopefully calming breaths. She'd already been feeling enclosed, but now that she actually had to go near the fire seeds... well the feeling was getting even worse.
She carefully grabbed a fire seed and then moved quickly back to her pot, placing it on top of the soil as directed before taking several steps back. She was not enjoying herself. At least she was now nearly done though. All she had to do was cover the seed and water it.
