...but he stuttered. Louisa's eyed widened in panic, she gasped quietly and held the breath in. He...can't? Taking a step away from him, she tried so hard not to blink.. her eyes would tear up so quickly and her exhaustion wouldn't help. "W-w-what.." Barely over a whisper. She swallowed and was frowning, to prevent the pout on her face, "You can't?" A humorless chuckle followed. "Good to know." She fixed her satchel on her shoulder and turned her back at him.

Why was he with her then if he couldn't promise to stay with her? He should leave already.

See, that was exactly what he had been dreading. Good for him to have landed exactly on it.

Letting out a stressed sigh, now regretting ever showing up here and waiting for her for A WHOLE HOUR, he reached out to gently turn her over and hug, if she let him.

"You've told it yourself, Louisa," so much for a Ravvie mind, "if my father is appointed at somewhere else, I have to follow him." Well, he didn't have to, exactly, but he would. And, certainly it wouldn't help to give the data of 'two years at most at the same place'.

"You cannot guarantee it to be with me forever either," he went on after a pause. "We can die at any moment, you know." And no, it wasn't a joke or anything. It was true, and she knew it too. And that was the exact reason he hated romantism--it was silly, and fully unrealistic. It only served to burden the males, and this was the last time he ever attempted it.
