How about these noises, hmm? Quote:

She started cutting into her lamb kebab but abandoned that to answer Bryce's question.
She nodded." Yeah I think it has a lot to do with that, I suppose the lot of them are feeling very smug right now." She took up her utensils again and started on the lamb.
Hmmm, oh they had company. Layla smiled and nodded politely at the twon that had joined them. They were well dressed and the man well he was wearing nice shoes...unlike Mr. McLaughlin there who decided to wear his old trusties. Luckily no one was really watching shoes.
"Oh no you're not interrupting at all. The food tastes just as appetizing as it looks." Really who ever did the catering did a really good job. She abandoned her knife and fork again to offer her hand to the woman who introduced herself, not before mentally flailing at her saying she was from the MLE of course. She kicked Bryce's foot discreetly. Lalala..time to abandon that conversation.
" It's a pleasure, Layla Dacosta, Trans..Media Liaison for the Minister's office and this is Bryce McLaughlin, owner of Ollivanders wand shop." There was probably no doubt about that.
Though the fact that he couldn't remember food tasting ever so good had distracted him from saying anymore comments on the matter for the time being. That and the kick he just recieved.
What? What did he do?
Wait, he was at a loss. There was the thing about the Media Liaison he didn't know about until seconds previously, and then himself being introduced by not himself, and then the questions started. Food will regretfully have to wait. He did give another polite nod. He was good with those. "It's a pleasure to meet you both."
Maybe. Not QUITE sure yet. SPOILER!!: le promotion stuffs wooooot Quote:

"I wasn't aware I had a 'the' in my title." Helo peeked back and smiled. And then he made impressed noises. "She forgot to add that she's the new Chief for the entire Improper Use of Magic Office." Which was the biggest in the MLE, was it not? More of those impressed noises.
Helo Banner, THE dashing and talented Curse-breaker, was a better actor than his date, clearly. Quote:

And THE dashing and talented Curse-breaker was very famous in her family, at least. Carrigan often asked questions about him before visits.[/color] Mostly because it was just stated the woman worked in the MLE department. MLE. Those people made him anxious. "Oh! Congratulations." he grinned, glancing over to Caedwyn. That wasn't so bad he supposed. Improper Use of Magic. None of that auror stuff. Was all goooooood. Quote:

He nodded at the Wand guy.
"Do you make the wands too, or do you simply source them?" It was something he'd wondered about Ollivanders, since it wasn't run by Ollivanders any more. ... "Quite frankly, I think Ollivander left behind enough wands to last a handful of centuries." he chuckled. If only he had a picture of his own expression once he walked into that back room for the first time. "But I do create wands every now and then when I come across material that is just too hard to let waste."
Which happened often. Whether he sold them or not. Quote:

Media Liaison sounds like an interesting job. I suppose that means you know reporters at all the national Wizarding papers?" That seemed like a fast moving crowd, or at least one you couldn't ever be a even a little too chatty around.
And the owner of Ollivanders! Cade gave him a nod too. "Mr. McLaughlin. You must love knowing that your work is instrumental in helping children develop their magical skills. It must make up for a crowded shop all through August." This wand talk was loosening him up a bit. The lady wasn't ALL that scary anymore. Especially with how enthusiastic she sounded when talking about his work. "I do." he nodded happily as a short chuckle escaped him. "Well, you know...a few trips to the sweet shop during the rush of summer, and I'm good to go." |
