The darkness began to intensify as they made their way deeper, but then soon began to glow a warm redish-orange.
After walking some way down a path, with pots and flowerbeds of plants skirting the area with the occasional rustling of leaves, Seren came to a halt. The strange glow seemed to be coming from a small, old, leafless looking tree. At the base of the tree a few low flames can be seen flickering to indicate a burning.
"Can anybody identify this particular plant?" she asked. "Simply name it, I don't need to know its entire history."
Sophie calmly followed Professor Bentley with the other students. The only reason she wasn't looking around excitedly as she normally would was because, well, her mother had greenhouses back at home and she was used to seeing all sorts of weird plants all the time. She still thought some were quite pretty though. She did like to stare at the pretty ones. But just to stare, no touching.
Sophie was more interested in her fellow students than in the actual plants around her. She couldn't see the plant Professor Bentley was talking about because a lot of other students were in front of her, but she didn't bother to try and see it.
"Burning Bush, maybe." she thought. Glowing area, some other people mumbling something about dittany and whatnot. Yeah, that was probably it. She almost made a disgusted face when she thought about tea.
"Blargh. Oh! Pretty flowers!" She liked pretty flowers. Sophie smirked and finally tried to see the plant, but she still couldn't do it.
