"Thanks Professor." Kimalia smiled taking that compliment with pride. She was looking forward to begin training the new Slytherin stars. Kimalia intended to make her house proud this term... Anyways! She waited patiently until class began before being allowed to speak.

After closing the door to the greenhouse, Seren turned on her heel to face the students. "Welcome everyone to the first herbology lesson of the term, for those of you who are returning, it's good to see you... for those of you who are new, welcome I hope you enjoy your time here."

"Now before we start I hope you have all familiarised yourselves with the class rules and I hope you all have your gloves with you. If not, please take this time to grab a pair from the stores cupboard,"
she said indicated the cupboard near the door opposite her.

She paused briefly to allow time for those students to get settled. "Now a few of you have asked about this ivy that is growing on the window panes... and for the record, they won't harm you, though they may attempt to wrap themselves around your ankles or your fingers should you allow them to." She gave a few of the leaves another gentle stroke as they reached out to her.

"Now before we move deeper into the greenhouse, does anybody have any idea as to why there is little light in here?"
Yep, Kimalia remembered to bring her gloves.. It was an outdoors class afterward. Sighing in relief at hearing the Ivy wasn't dangerous, just too loveable.. Is that what the Professor meant?

Taking a few moments to ponder the question, she rose her hand. "Is it because they're too shy?" She could've sworn there was some passage where it hinted at plants having feelings. "Since most plants do thrive on sun, they probably don't care too much for a nice tan."
