"Thank you, they're beautiful," she said taking them and giving them a sniff. Simply beautiful.
"How was your holiday? get up to anything exciting?" she asked while taking a vase out of the cupboard behind her desk.
So far so good. The flowers didn't bite, produce pus or anything like that. They probably were just some Muggle lillies after all. On one hand, Ari thought she should stop worrying so much about everything, but on the other hand the girl decided she needed to be more selective with the flowers she was picking up by hand.
'Glad you like them.' Ari returned the smile. '
Yes, it was pretty exciting. I visited Hawaii with one of my friends and his family, I got to test lots of Muggle things, like scuba diving and taking pictures the Muggle way. I've also had visits from other friends and I've been to France for a whole month with my mum.' And mum's new boyfriend, soon to be husband. But Ari had a feeling that she was talking too much.
'Did you have a nice summer?' The young lioness had always wondered where staff members spend their holidays, but assumed she'd never get to find out. It was none of her business, really.
Since Bentley seemed really nice, Ariadne thought she could afford sharing her worries with her. But not directly. A bit of diplomacy never hurt anyone. '
So, Professor, what are we going to study this year in Herbology?' she asked sheepishly.
