Either way, he nodded once more at Max, wondering once again about those points lost by a Gryffindor. Josh was no longer around. And Walnut didn't lose points, did he? Like, Headmaster Tate wouldn't make Kurumi lose points on behalf of Walnut, right?
That's when he noticed the change in Max's expression, and tone. A completely normal reaction when one spoke about their Quidditch Captain, no? After all, Treyen knew Keefer was going to do a fantastic job. He was doing so already. Everyone was, except him. He'd already apologized at the start-of-term feast.
This time, he laughed. Yeah, that pretty much sounded like something Ellie would do...if she was close to the boy. By now, Treyen was eyeing him curiously, as if he was trying to remember if Max had been the boy sitting next to her at the feast...but nothing came to mind. "Yeah, she really loves Quidditch, doesn't she?" he had yet to be at ease with that fact, he could still pretend he was. And...what Max said next surprised him even more. Blink. "Er, thanks." Blush. His sister was the very talented one when it came to Quidditch...and many other things. Never mind what OWLs said.
However, she did have to take her Apparition exam twice. Chuckle. Right, Ellie would love to beat them. Most specifically, beat him. "We'll see about that." Max shifted his weight from one foot to the other and folded his arms subconsciously. "She sure does. I always feel bad, though - she puts all the pressure on herself and takes any failure really hard. I mean, it's not always her fault if we lose, you know?" He sighed. "I wish she'd give herself some more credit sometimes. She's a great Seeker, captain, player - everything." He was smiling. We'll see about that. "We certainly will. Who knows? You guys could get lucky again." He forced a smile, but he was only half-joking - he still believed Ravenclaw only lost when others got lucky, not because Ellie wasn't good enough. Ellie was good enough. He knew it. Ellie was going to be able to play for any professional Quidditch team she wanted!
Now, Max caught sight of the hourglasses. Hah, Gryffindors. "Kids these days," he shook his head mockingly, glad that it wasn't Ravenclaw that had just stumbled into the negatives. In front of Treyen, that would've been embarrassing.
