He slowly leaned forward as Cornelius proceeded to speak and clarify himself. Help? Eino could use some help he just didn't know how Cornelius could help him. "Yes." Eino replied dryly, when Cornelius asked him if he would want to be with her. He did, but he never envisioned himself with her, he just enjoyed her company.
Then, he got an idea. "Why don't you ask her out?" Eino said poking Cornelius' chest to emphasize the you part. If Sierra accepted then Eino would know she wasn't nearly as interested in him as he was interested in her, because he wouldn't want to go out with anyone else other than Sierra. He absolutely loved her company; all other girls paled in comparison to her. They were like little lizards, but Sierra was the whole fire-breathing, tail-swinging, claw-clawing, men-killing dragon.
The plan should make him nervous, but surprisingly, it didn't. He had just recently met Cornelius, but he trusted him. "That would be truly wonderful and extremely helpful." He said and paused to think about the possible down-sides, but didn't find any. "If she does accept, and you two end up dating, it will only encourage my determination to domesticate dragons so that I may sic them on you." He said very innocently and matter-of-factly, which might have led Cornelius to believe he was joking, but he wasn't.
Cornelius grinned yet again as Eino announced that he did, indeed, want to be with this girl, the only confirmation he needed to begin to try to help. Sitting up and preparing to explain, he opened his mouth to speak only to find that Eino was starting this conversation himself...with the most ridiculous request he had ever heard in his life. Suggesting that he himself (
Cornelius!, in case you forgot!) should ask this girl out.
"WHAT?!" he blurted out the second he had registered that Eino's suggestion was serious.
"You're kidding..." he hoped aloud, brows furrowing slightly as Eino said it would be 'wonderful and helpful'.
He listened as Eino then explained that if Sierra accepted, and they ended up dating, it would just provide more inspiration for Eino to domesticate dragons to 'sic on him'. Cornelius burst into a string of chuckles, obviously taking this as a joke, and finding it amusing. Eino could not be serious about any part of this situation! How would this help at all? He still hadn't received any explanation about that. But as Eino didn't start laughing along with him, and kept his face of honest truth, Cornelius's chuckles quieted quickly and his eyes widened. Dragons?!
"Whoa, whoa," he said upon realizing that Eino was truly serious about this dragon plan. And this girl plan too!
"First of all! You have made no plausible explanation for why me asking her out would do anything for your potential relationship with her," Cornelius pointed out, raising his eyebrows at him.
"And secondly, even if I did go along with this no-sense-plan of yours, and she said yes, which she wouldn't..." Cornelius really had no way of truly knowing this, but he was pretty positive that this girl must've liked Eino to some extent. Or at least like him more than some random guy (being Cornelius in this situation). And if she didn't, she wasn't worth it anyway!
"...You honestly think I'd just go out with her?" he asked with honest surprise in his voice.
Sure, he and Eino hadn't been friends for more than a few days, but he wasn't about to even consider going out with some girl that Eino so clearly liked!
"If she actually said yes, I'd say no!"
