Treyen's eyes were immediately on the one person that stood still. Why? Because it seemed incredibly odd that the Ravenclaw boy was staring so intently at the hourglasses when they were all at zero points. There was nothing to be looking at...yet they held some peace and uncertainty at the same time, come to think of it. "It feels like we're not even back at Hogwarts." He suddenly said, standing next to the boy, "To see them before all the competition begins." Then he gestured at the oh-so-empty hourglasses. He was slightly right, it felt as if they were frozen in a moment of summer when no students were at the castle. He supposed that's what they looked like over the break. Honestly, Max was kind of disappointed that the sapphire hourglass was empty at the bottom. Even though he had done nothing to help the cause either, he felt like it was the job of a Ravenclaw to go out of the way and score a few bonus points before classes began. Ah, well. As long as none of the other houses have any points yet either...
...
Max's eyes shot open to the size of golf balls. A voice was speaking on the other side of him. One that he had never spoken to in his life. But he still knew it.
It was the voice of none other than the Head Boy. Ellie's love interest. Significant other. Boyfriend. Something.
A bit cautiously, he turned his head, hoping there was a student Max had never met who just happened to have a similar voice to Treyen. Unfortunately, that was not the case. "Treyen," he responded with a small smile, trying not to sound surprised. "It's nice to see you." That was an okay thing to say, wasn't it? Was that weird? Was it bizarre for him to say it was nice to see someone he had never directly met? What was the proper etiquette in greeting someone you knew so much about but avoided speaking to like it was a sport?
"Nice Head Boy badge. I mean- congratulations. I... um, did you have a good summer?" That was a good space filler. Yeah. He was doing all right. The warmth in his cheeks indicated otherwise.
