But he had to admit, it would mean that it could never get boring around here.
Turning a corner, he entered a corridor full of old portraits and a boy. A boy who looked about his age. "Why are you staring at the wall?"
Darwin couldn't help but ask it, as he didn't seem to be doing anything other. Hogwarts had given him a new found confidence around people, it seemed. Maybe it was because he could afford to be himself. Quote:

She stopped in her tracks and she looked at the beautiful, almost gothic-looking prtrait of a young girl sitting on a swing holding an old teddy bear doll by it's arm. There was something about the theme of this portrait that she just loved so much and she stood by it and smiled. As Elektra was looking at the portrait she noticed a young fellow, definately a first year, just sitting there staring at the pictures. She kind of chuckled softly to herself and she looked back at her portrait, but talked strait to the young first year. "They'll talk if you talk to them." Sammy looked over at the boy. "They're supposed to talk to you." With that, he turned back to staring at the wall. He was going to get one of them talking to him. He stared at one of an older man seated in a chair. The man seemed to be just staring back. Sammy saw him blink and wondered if he was going to talk...then he heard someone talking to him from down the hall.
He turned to face the girl. "Oh. Okay. Thanks." Sam turned back to the portrait. Well...here went nothing. "Erm...hello." "It's about time! I thought you were incapable of speaking young man!" The old man just scoffed at the young boy. "And weren't you ever taught it's rude to stare!?" Sammy was taken a back by the sudden outburst. How did her respond to that...
