Alex reached the top of the stairs and entered the dormitory. She saw Melanie and another girl from the train, Morgan was it? "Hi, she said. Silvia entered the dormitory right behind Alex and walked up to a nearby window. “This is a really great view,” she said as she looked out across the school grounds. Turning around, she made her way to the bed with her things sitting beside it and opened her trunk. Shifting the contents around, Silvia wondered how she should organize her things. “I wish we had some shelf space for our books.” It looked like she might have to keep some of them in her trunk when she wasn’t using them.

"Hey, guys!" Melanie called as her friends entered the dormitory. "This really is great, isn't it? I love these beds!" Melanie had always wanted a four-poster bed, and the curtains added an elegant, as well as practical, touch. Sitting on the bed and looking up at the canopy above her, Melanie felt like a little girl again, pretending to be a princess.

"I was just talking to Morgan about the space issue. We figured we could find a spell in the library that would expand some of these drawers or something." Melanie put some of her belongings back in her trunk after realizing there was no more space. "For now, I suppose we live out of these," she said, kicking her trunk for emphasis. She let out a small squeak of pain and sat back down on the bed, her toes stinging.
